Johannesburg Stephan Welz & Co. in Association with Sotheby's had a Decorative and Fine Arts, and Jewels sale on 5 & 6 September 2005 at their Gallery, 13 Biermann Avenue,  Rosebank,  Johannesburg.

This in between sales was well attended. Session one, Monday 5 September at 3pm - Lot 1 - 169 - Books and Maps, Lot 170-332 paintings,  watercolours, sculpture and prints covered 38 lots of International works of art and the South African highlights included works by artists Hugo Naude, Irma Stern, Maggie Laubser, Mohl,  Sekoto,  Battiss,  Boshoff and Pierneef. In the contemporary section there were two works by Norman Catherine, two by Robert Hodgins and no less than four lots by artist William Kentridge.
